Description
Freecell is the most commonly known version of the solitaire card game, and the one which has come as standard with the Windows operating system for nearly 20 years. Created by a mathematician in 1968 from a even older game that might date back to the time of Napoleon. As with most solitaire games, the objective in Freecell is to arrange cards in columns from a random deal of the entire pack. In Freecell these columns must rank downwards in alternating colours of red and black, and are arranged in a 7 by six spread. With an empty space to one side, foundation piles at the top of each column and the ability to move any card around to an empty column or the foundation. This makes for a game which is always solvable however the cards fall.
BG freecell was spoonbill's first Solitaire title, and established many of the commands used to move the cards and review the board that would become standard in their later games. As with all Spoonbill titles, Freecell uses Microsoft Sapi to output speech, and has magnification options for vision impared players. It's even able to play midi format music during the game. Also like other BG titles, it's completely free.
