Description
Bg scrabble brings yet another traditional and well loved word game into the sphere of accessible computer games, this time the popular multiplayer strategic, vocabulary based board game.
The object of the game of scrabble is for players to construct words horizontally and vertically, by placing letter tiles on a board comprised of innumerable squares. This is made more difficult by the fact that any new word must use at least one letter of an existing one, ---- for instance crossing over the word sun in the other direction by placing a p and a t either side of the u to make the word put. For every letter placed, a player scores points, which can be further increased by placing letters on special squares on the board which give bonuses to the score of either the individual letter placed on them, or the entire word.
The hole thing makes for a complex game of spacial logic and verbosity which has been a popular classic for many years.
Bg scrabble offers all the functions of the original game, (including a comprehensive in game dictionary to tell you what words are or are not valid), and can be played by up to four players on one computer, the game also features colourful and high contrast graphics, thus making it perfect to play for people with a variety of sight conditions. You can even play a single player game against yourself, trying to get as high a score as possible, ---- though in version 2.0, you have the ability to play against the computer as well on various difficulty levels.
As with all spoonbill games, Bg Scrabble is self voicing using the installed windows synth, Microsoft sapi, comes with comprehensive instructions, and a very complete set of navigation keys for reviewing the board, and is entirely free to download and play!.
Happy Scrabbling, and just remember, words in Klingon, Elvish or Dothraki do not unfortunately count! (a shame, there are lots of q's in Elvish).
