Description

The sequel to Bokurano Daiboukenn. You play as the same character in a side-scrolling action RPG. After the events of the last game, you've returned to your peaceful life, only to have it interrupted by a crazy break-in once again. After cleaning up the mess left by the intruders, you set out to find out why your town has been invaded once more..

Instead of travelling around on a map and fighting side-scrolling battles, this time the entire game is set in side-scrolling stages. You select stages from a menu, each of which has 4 levels. You then play these levels, which mostly consist of battling enemies and picking up coins and items, with the occasional puzzle thrown in. The only vital statistic in this game is HP. You start with 100 HP, and in each stage's shop, you can purchase more HP for coins.

After defeating each stage, a shop is generally unlocked in that stage's menu. Shops sell you HP, various useful items and weaponry to use during levels. There are many, many weapons to collect, some that you buy through shops and some that you find hidden on stages or for defeating certain enemies. One of the main objectives of the game is to collect all the weapons, especially the secret ones. Items range in everything from healing items, to grenades that can take out entire groups of enemies, to speed potions that make you move much more quickly.

The game is much longer than Bokurano Daiboukenn 1, with 25 stages to complete. There are many bosses to defeat, though sometimes in place of a boss, you must simply defeat a massive horde of enemies. When you start a new game, you are given the option of reading a recap of the last game. So playing Bokurano Daiboukenn 1 isn't necessary, but is highly recommended. All in all, it's a great addition to the series and the storyline.
