Description
Minesweeper is a game of spacial logic and daring explosives which has become so synonymous with the Windows operating system that it seems strange to see it anywhere else. Nevertheless, thanks to Woodside aps its now available for your favourite Ios device.
The game is played on a grid of numbered squares representing a mine field. Each turn you click on a square to uncover it. If that square contains a mine your blown to smithereens and the game is over. Fortunately, whoever laid these mines was kind enough to leave a couple of clues as to their location. When you uncover some squares, they will contain a number such as one two or three. This number indicates that there are that many mines in the eight squares surrounding the numbered square. For example, if square 2-2 contains a one, you know that in either 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-1, 2-3, 3-1, 3-2 or 3-3 there is a mine. If however 4-2 also contains a one, its a safe bet that squares 1-1, 1-2, 2-1 and possibly 1-3 and 2-3 do not contain mines, since they are outside the eight squares of 4-2 (its usually a good idea to start at the corners). The object is to uncover all the safe squares you can, taking as few risks as possible.
This likely sounds more complicated to explain than it does in practice.
In the Minesweeper deluxe version, you begin with a comparatively simple 7 by 7 grid to solve with just two or three mines to find. When you first tap on a square, if it is empty, i.e, the surrounding 8 squares contain no mines, further empty squares will be uncovered until you hit problem areas and have to start making choices where to dig. After this you can swipe left, right, up and down to examine the grid, and double tap to make your choice, (be sure to have vertical navigation enabled in Voiceover).
The Woodside version of the game then continues with increasingly harder levels. Hit a mine and you will go down a level, though you can always reset the game from the options window if you want to start at the beginning. With a few arcade sound effects and some colour and size choices of tiles on the grid for those using the game's graphics, the game is ideal for players with any level of sight.
The game costs just 99 American Cents, or 79 English pence, and like Woodside aps other titles will doubtless be seeing further expantion in the future.
As is usual with Ios releases you can visit This page on Applevis
